You can now automatically use your Emirates ID as an e-Gate card
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has completed the activation of electronic gate service through the use of Emirates Identity card at the arrival wing of Terminal Three at Dubai International Airport.
Emirates ID card holders can use this service without the need for prior registration.
All residents travelling through the airport can now use their ID cards to access the e-gates, a service which will benefit all citizens and residence of the UAE at the arrival wing of Terminal Three.
The service will be soon activated in all other terminals as well.
Using the E-gate service with the E-I Cards has a lot of benefits, one of them being the fact that it only requires a single card to travel, noting that there are currently 28 e-gates in the arrival wing at terminal three.
There are currently no charges or prior registration for using this service, it only requires a valid Emirates ID. The first phase of the activation will be in Terminal one, two, and three at both the arrivals and departures wings.
This activation ensures a smooth and easy process for all travelers at the Dubai Airport.
