Priyanka & Deepika to revive Dola Re magic!

The first look of Pingaa from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Bajirao Mastani is here. And the official trailer is out:

The film-maker has used the Maratha flavour in its full glory for the song. Dressed in magenta and purple silk navari sarees, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone relive the era of the regal Peshwas. Both the ladies are beautifully adorned in traditional Maratha jewellery. The green bangles symbolize marriage while the earrings worn in the upper part of the ear is called bugadi. Dippy and Priyanka are also wearing the cummerbund, vel (stringed earrings) and Kolhapuri Saj (necklace). Both the divas have an identical hairstyle – the bun, which is called the khopa.

The number Pingaa is a lavani with folk and classical elements infused in it. It has been choreographed by Remo D’Souza over a period of 12 days. Pingaa has been shot in a larger than life set with over 50 background dancers. The actresses reportedly rehearsed for it for more than 10 days. After Devdas, this will be the second time when one will see two great contemporary actresses dancing in the same frame. Priyanka plays the role of Kashibai, Bajirao’s first wife while Mastani is the woman he loves. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Peshwa Bajirao, the legendary Maratha warrior. A lot of thought went into the costumes that are designed by veteran designer Anju Modi.

The two actresses apparently bonded quite well during the making of the song. Priyanka who ordered a dance kit for herself from the US also ordered one for Dippy. She had also taken to Twitter to express her excitement about the song.

The dance off news between Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone in Bajirao Mastani had already created a lot of buzz and now we present you the first look of the song ‘Pinga’. Priyanka posted the picture on her Twitter account by captioning “Very happy to be sharing #PingaTomorrow #BajiraoMastani #Kashibai #Mastani”

After creating an epic dance with Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in ‘Dola Re’ from Devadas, it would be exciting to watch Sanjay Leela Bhasali’s ‘Pinga’. Here we see both the actresses styled in a typical Maharastrian ‘Navari’ (Nine yeard) Sari and the pose just reminds us of Dola Re.

Bajirao Mastani also stars Ranveer Singh as Bajirao Peshwa. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhasali and is slate to release on December 18.
