Oye Punjabi! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to do bhangra in 'Sarabjit'

After playing a no-nonsense lawyer in Sanjay Gupta's 'Jazbaa' Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is set to essay the role of Dalbir Kaur in Omung Kumar's 'Sarabjit'.

Her deglam avatar is already the talk of the town and now we hear that she will be doing a Punjabi folk dance number for the film. We hear that the song titled 'Tuglak Tuglak Tun' is an energetic bhangra song, similar to 'Nagada Nagada' from 'Jab We Met'.

As per a DNA report director Omung Kumar was quoted as saying, "Sarbjit is a biopic but made in a different way. All biopics don’t have to be sad. Sarbjit’s story spans over 23 years. Before he disappeared, his life was full of fun and festivity. Then a drastic change happens, but a festive song was always meant to happen to show the contrast between then and now. While the seriousness has to be there, I am not making a boring film. I want people to cry, laugh and go through all the emotions. Twenty-three years is a long time. I do everything in films larger-than-life so even my way of showing Punjab will be bigger. This song is a full-on Punjabi dhamaal number.”

The dance number will be choreographed by Vishnu Deva and will also have Randeep Hooda and Richa Chadha doing 'balle-balle' with her. 'Sarbjit' also stars Darshan Kumar which plays a Pakistani lawyer in the film.

The movie is slated to release in May 2016.
