Twitter says goodbye to 140 characters!
Twitter fans can finally send a direct message longer than 140 characters! (yes!)
Twitter can now send a direct message to a fellow follower, with up to 10,000 characters! That’s 9,860 more than we used to be able to send! (I know, we’re amazing at maths)
Twitter’s product manager, Sachin Agarwal explain that private messaging on Twitter is a core part of the experience.
This has now put Twitter in competition with the likes of Facebook Messenger and What’s App.
The thing that puts them ahead of other similar apps, is that “There’s so much amazing content on Twitter already and we want to enable people to have private conversations about those things” Agarwal explained.
