Reckless driving may invite fine of Dh 1 million in Dubai
Dubai Police Chief has issued what could be the sternest warning to stunt drivers who intentionally damage public property, saying they face a fine of up to Dh1 million.
Major-General Khamis Matar Al Mazina said Dubai Police have issued strict instructions police patrols to arrest anyone involved in such ‘irresponsible’ acts and would no longer tolerate stunt driving on the emirate’s roads.
He further said “These acts by some irresponsible young men give a very bad image to the emirate. They cause damage to public property and endanger human lives. Penalties against these drivers could involve Dh1 million”.
He further mentioned that 82 other vehicles without plates had been seized by the police in the past few weeks and that some of them were doing more than 200 kph.
He urged the public to call police on 901 or free toll numbers 8004353 – 8007777 or email them on firstname.lastname@example.org to report any reckless acts on roads.
