Anyone who want to stay fit and be healthy or join the cheering crowd, Welcome!
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has set out a traffic plan for the Dubai Marathon 2017, which will be on Friday, January 20, in cooperation with the Dubai and UAE Athletics Federation. The event is organized with 3 races at different timing.
Start & Finish Time
The 42 km race starts at 6.30am, but is long and arduous as the route is flat, which runs the length of beach road and back. Making it one of the fastest Marathons in the world. Would like to see some elite runners, who would break the record.
The Marathon at (6.30am) and 10km (9am) will begin from Umm Suqeim Road right opposite the Madinat Jumeirah.
4 km fun will start from Al Wasl Road (near the Al Jalila Foundation).
The races will finish on Umm Suqeim Road, outside the Dubai Police Academy.
Which roads will be closed?
Many roads around the route will close or have limited access from 1am on Friday morning or Thursday night, particularly near where the start and finish lines converge.
Check out all the roads highlighted in blue in the map will be closed. It will be opened from 12pm on Friday onwards.
Parking is safe in the Mall of Emirates,Al Barsha Area or Al Wasl Road. Taxi drop off and pick up point will be on Al Wasl Road.
Plan to arrive at the event 90 minutes before the start of your race, so you can drop your bag and finger out the starting point and much more (there coffee and much more to chill out).
See you there. Have a fun run!
