UAE postpones Good Conduct Certificate

As per the labor ministry, UAE has postponed the implementation of the new good conduct certificate for certain nationalities.

Emiratisation and Ministry of Human Resources said the scheme is effective from 1st April (Sunday).

The Government had started security background checks of foreign workers from 4th February - any expat moving to the UAE had to present a document, stating that they had no criminal history.

On Sunday, the ministry said on Twitter that "the good conduct certificate is postponed from the first of April till further notice," without elaborating. The Indian Consulate of Dubai also tweeted confirming that they have received official confirmation from the UAE Government.
