Brett Lee to make movie debut with

Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee-starer 'unINDIAN', an Indian-Australian film, will hit theatres down under on October 15 this year.

The cross-cultural comedy, starring the cricketer and Tannishtha Chatterjee, has been directed by Indian-origin Sydney-based filmmaker Anupam Sharma. The film was shot in Sydney last summer and is the first production of the Australia India Film Fund (AIFF).

"unINDIAN" is an Australian romantic comedy which follows the chequered path of Aussie bloke Will as he attempts to woo the gorgeous Indian woman Meera, who lives in Sydney with her daughter.

Other cast of the film include John Howard, Tiriel Mora, Maya Sathimoorthy, Arka Das, Sarah Roberts, Adam Dunn, Nicholas Brown, Kumu Merani, Bollywood stars Supriya Pathak Kapur, Akash Kurana and Pallavi Sharda.

"'unINDIAN' is a hugely entertaining film and audiences across Australia would fall in love with its wonderful cast of characters, including Brett Lee in his first starring role. It will be a real breakthrough release in India for a cross-cultural film that speaks to the mainstream Australian audience.

Backed with a huge marketing and publicity campaign the film will release in more than 80 screens nationally on October 15.
