Colombo welcomes Team India
The Indian cricket team have reached Sri Lanka where it is scheduled to play for the three-match Test Series beginning from August 12, with first Test being played at Galle.
The India vs Sri Lanka Test series is anticipated to be the biggest challenge till date for Virat since taking up the captaincy reins from now retired Test captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The Indian skipper has also assured to maintain the aggressive approach when taking on Sri Lanka in the first as he hinted on playing five bowlers, something which he did against Bangladesh recently.
He pressed against the fact that to win a Test match, you need to take 20 wickets and so it is a big possibility of having five bowlers in the playing XI.
Meanwhile, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have prohibited the wives and girlfriends of the players not being allowed during the tour to Sri Lanka. So, looks like this time around we do not get to see Virat’s girlfriend Anushka Sharma in the stands cheering for her boyfriend and Team India.
