MS 'Daddy' Dhoni becomes father of Baby girl

Days before the World Cup, the Indian Cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has already a reason to celebrate.

Dhoni's Wife Sakshi delivered their first baby, a girl, around 4pm at a private hospital in Gurgaon on Friday. The baby weighs 3.7 kg, according to the doctors.

However, reports suggest that the baby was due in March but was born almost a month earlier- right on schedule for the World Cup when asked whether he would rather have been in India in recent days he said: "Not really."

"I have been blessed with a baby daughter. Mum and daughter both are good,".

"But as of now I am on national duties so I think everything else can wait. The World Cup is a very important campaign."

India plays their first match of the tournament against traditional rivals Pakistan on February 15 in Adelaide.
