The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has confirmed that hotels, attractions and tourism experiences across the emirate continue to operate normally despite recent regional travel disruptions. Authorities said they are working closely with government partners and hospitality providers to support visitors whose travel plans have been affected. Hotels have been instructed to extend stays for guests who are unable to leave due to flight cancellations or airspace closures, with the additional accommodation costs covered by the tourism authority to ensure visitors are supported during the disruption.
Officials added that Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector remains resilient and continues to see strong performance. According to the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi, the emirate recorded around 5.4 million hotel guests in the first 11 months of last year, with hotels maintaining an average occupancy rate of 81.2 per cent. Authorities say these figures highlight the continued growth of the sector and the emirate’s appeal as a global travel destination.
The initiative also supports the goals of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to attract more than 39 million visitors annually and significantly increase tourism’s contribution to Abu Dhabi’s economy while enhancing visitor experiences across the emirate.
