Akshay Kumar has clarified that his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla is completely different from his earlier hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Addressing comparisons, he explained that Bhool Bhulaiyaa was more of a psychological comedy-thriller, while Bhooth Bangla dives into fantasy with elements of real horror. He described it as a “true horror comedy,” where the mystery of whether a ghost actually exists keeps audiences intrigued.
Director Priyadarshan shared that the blend of fear and humour works well because audiences naturally look for relief during tense moments. He revealed that Bhool Bhulaiyaa wasn’t originally planned as a horror-comedy, but humour has always been a key part of his storytelling. According to him, a balanced mix of tension and comedy makes for an engaging cinematic experience.
The film features a strong cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav, and is set to release on April 10, 2026.
