CBSE-affiliated schools in the UAE are exempt from generating APAAR IDs, school leaders confirmed after the board issued a circular clarifying the rule. APAAR, linked to Aadhaar, is designed to track students’ academic journeys in India under the NEP 2020. While the IDs are mandatory in India for Grade 10 and 12 board exam registrations, overseas schools are excluded due to administrative and legal reasons. Principals in the UAE welcomed the clarification, noting that it removes confusion among students and parents concerned about Aadhaar-linked requirements that do not apply outside India.
