If you hold a valid Dubai driving licence and plan to drive abroad, your UAE experience can accelerate the process. Some countries, like the UK and EU nations, require a Driver Experience Certificate to validate your driving history. Dubai’s RTA issues this certificate, also called a “To Whom It May Concern” certificate, confirming your driving record, licence issuance date, and absence of active violations. To use it internationally, it must be authenticated by the Ministry of Interior and stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Applications can be made via the RTA website, Dubai Drive app, Dubai Now app, self-service machines, or in person. Fees total Dh120, and the certificate is valid for 60 days.
