Dubai has been ranked the world’s cleanest city for the sixth consecutive year, according to the Global Power City Index released by the Mori Memorial Foundation. The emirate achieved a 100 percent satisfaction score for cleanliness under the Environmental Pillar of the ranking, reflecting its continued focus on sanitation, waste management, and sustainable urban services.

The Global Power City Index evaluates major cities worldwide across several categories, including environment, economy, and quality of life. In the cleanliness ranking, Dubai secured the top position, followed by Singapore, Copenhagen, Tokyo, and Zurich.

Dubai Municipality maintains the city’s cleanliness through extensive daily operations across the emirate. Cleaning teams cover more than 2,400 kilometres of roads, 1,419 square kilometres of investment zones, and 33 kilometres of canals and waterways.

These operations are carried out by a workforce of over 3,200 workers, supported by 855 specialised vehicles and machines. Authorities also use advanced technologies, including smart monitoring systems, automated cleaning equipment, and waste to energy solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Officials said the continued ranking reflects Dubai’s long term urban planning strategies and ongoing investments in environmental services aimed at maintaining high standards of public cleanliness across residential, commercial, and tourism areas.
