Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) and Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) signed an agreement to install 208 ultra-fast EV charging points across Dubai. The first phase will launch hubs at DTC’s airport depot and Muhaisnah 4 headquarters, reducing nearly 38,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ annually. Announced during WETEX 2023, the initiative supports Dubai’s Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and Social Agenda 33. Dewa has already deployed over 1,500 charging points since launching its EV Green Charger in 2014. DTC aims to convert its entire taxi and limousine fleet to electric vehicles by 2040, reinforcing Dubai’s global sustainability leadership.
