Dubai Airports plans to use artificial intelligence at the new Al Maktoum International Airport to improve passenger movement. AI will dynamically reassign aircraft gates so planes park in spots that reduce how far people need to walk inside the huge terminal. Right now, gates are fixed far in advance, but soon AI will be able to analyze factors like delays, passenger connections, crowd levels, and incoming traffic, and change the assigned gate in real time before it’s too late. The airport will span 70 km² with over 400 gates and five runways, eventually replacing Dubai International by 2032.
