The UAE’s 900-km Etihad Rail network will soon offer passengers a smooth, scenic journey across deserts and mountains, connecting key stations, freight terminals, and depots nationwide, with extensions to Oman. The system is designed to ease congestion, enhance efficiency, and integrate with buses, taxis, and parking facilities. Passenger services are scheduled to begin in 2026 under a joint venture with Keolis International. Alongside this, the GCC Railway is set for completion by December 2030. Spanning 2,177 km, it will link Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, reducing travel time, boosting trade, and strengthening regional economic integration.
