Sharjah Police has launched a temporary free number plate delivery service to support residents impacted by recent floods and severe weather in Sharjah.
The three day initiative, running from March 29 to March 31, 2026, is designed to assist elderly residents and people with disabilities who have lost their vehicle number plates due to the weather conditions. Authorities said the service aims to provide quick and accessible support to those facing difficulty visiting service centres.
Eligible residents can request the service by calling 901, the police contact centre. Once a request is placed, authorities will manage the entire replacement process, including issuing new plates and delivering them directly to the applicant’s home.
The initiative removes the need for affected individuals to travel or wait at service centres, helping to ease inconvenience during the recovery period. Officials said the move is part of broader efforts to streamline services and prioritise community wellbeing during emergencies.
Sharjah Police added that the initiative reflects its commitment to responsive public service, ensuring that vulnerable groups receive timely assistance and that essential vehicle documentation is restored quickly following unexpected disruptions caused by severe weather.
