The UAE Cyber Security Council has highlighted that social engineering is behind nearly 98% of cyberattacks, exploiting human behavior instead of technical flaws. As part of its ongoing Cyber Pulse initiative, the Council warned that attackers often impersonate trusted contacts, use fake rewards, urgent threats, or emotional manipulation to trick victims into revealing sensitive data or making rash decisions. Common targets include banking details and personal information. The public is urged to verify identities, avoid sharing private data, and stay alert to sudden messages. The campaign, now in its second year, aims to boost digital safety and trust nationwide.
