UAE residents counting down to Eid Al Fitr 2026 could be in for a four-day weekend, depending on moon sightings. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and falls on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar. In the UAE, the public holiday runs from Ramadan 30 to Shawwal 3. Astronomical predictions suggest Ramadan may begin on February 18. If the holy month lasts 29 or 30 days, Eid is expected around March 19–21. In three of four possible scenarios, the holiday would begin on a Friday and extend to Monday, creating a long weekend. Employees are guaranteed at least three days off, with a possible fourth day if Ramadan completes 30 days. Official dates will be confirmed by the UAE moon-sighting committee closer to the time.
