The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has updated the rules for visit visas, introducing new minimum salary requirements for residents who want to host visitors. To sponsor a first-degree relative, the resident must earn at least AED 4,000 per month, while the threshold is AED 8,000 for second or third-degree relatives. Hosting a friend now requires a minimum monthly income of AED 15,000. The ICP stated that these changes are based on economic and social studies, trends, and feedback, aiming to enhance security, support tourism, attract talent, and strengthen the UAE’s global competitiveness. This update aligns with the country’s broader vision of economic diversification and community wellbeing.
