The UAE is working on a major transport plan to improve travel between Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, one of the busiest routes in the country. The proposal, reviewed by the UAE Infrastructure and Housing Council and led by Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, focuses on reducing traffic and making daily commutes easier.
A key part of the plan is a public transport network with 10 main routes using Bus Rapid Transit systems. These buses will run on dedicated lanes and connect to metro stations and major areas, helping people save time and depend less on private cars. Updates around such plans are already being widely discussed, even during daily routines or while people tune into their favourite radio station across the UAE, like 89.1 Radio 4.
Alongside this, a Dh6 billion federal highway project, known as the Fourth Corridor, is also being developed. The 68 km road will include multiple lanes, flyovers and key intersections to improve traffic flow.
Officials are also studying ways to control the rising number of vehicles in Dubai. With more people relying on regular updates, whether through conversations or while listening during drives, platforms like 89.1 Radio 4, known for its 2.6 million daily listeners, continue to stay part of everyday life.
The overall goal is simple, smoother travel, better connectivity and improved quality of life.
