His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Ruler of Dubai has welcomed students across the UAE back to school on April 20 with an inspiring message of resilience and continuity. His highness' note came as schools reopened after more than a month of remote learning due to regional tensions linked to the Iran–Israel conflict 2026.

HH emphasised that the UAE is a nation that does not pause in the face of challenges and continues to prioritise education at all times. Highlighting the country’s strong digital infrastructure, HH Sheikh Mohammed praised the education system for ensuring uninterrupted learning during the crisis, calling it an example of “exceptional continuity.”

Following thorough safety inspections and official approvals, students returned to campuses in cheerful spirits, reconnecting with friends and teachers. Schools have implemented strict safety measures, along with flexible systems such as hybrid learning and staggered schedules to manage student flow smoothly.

While a majority of students have resumed in-person classes, some families are still abroad or choosing to delay their return. To accommodate them, institutions continue to offer remote learning options, ensuring no disruption in education.

Reports suggest that around 85 per cent of students in Dubai have already returned as part of a phased reopening. The overall atmosphere remains positive and optimistic, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to progress, unity, and learning.

HH Sheikh Mohammed’s message reinforced that the nation’s journey of growth and development will continue, with students playing a key role in shaping its future.
