India produced a historic performance to defeat England by 270 runs in the first ever women's Test match at Lord's, completing a memorable victory on the final day in London.

Chasing a record target of 457, England were bowled out for 186 before lunch, with spinners Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma sharing the final four wickets to seal India's famous win.

Rana finished with 4 for 42, dismissing Amy Jones for 54 before bowling Sophie Ecclestone for 50 to wrap up the match. Deepti Sharma also played a key role, removing Issy Wong and Lauren Bell as England collapsed.

The victory capped a remarkable Test for India, with several players making history. Kranti Gaud became the first woman to take a five wicket haul in a Test at Lord's, claiming 5 for 37 in England's first innings. Wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia also etched her name into the record books by becoming the first woman to score a Test century at Lord's, making 113 in India's second innings.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur praised her team's batting effort, with opener Smriti Mandhana contributing half centuries in both innings to help set up the commanding victory.

For England, the defeat marked their second biggest Test loss by runs and brought an emotional end to the international careers of Tammy Beaumont and former captain Heather Knight, who both retired after the match.

The landmark victory gives India a historic triumph at the Home of Cricket and marks one of the greatest achievements in the history of Indian women's cricket.
