Alexander Zverev has reached the US Open semi finals after beating Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets at Flushing Meadows.
The top seed defeated the Dutchman 6-2, 7-5, 6-1 to move into the last four and take another step towards winning his second Grand Slam title.
Zverev started the tournament with two five set matches but has now won his last three matches in straight sets. The German has also achieved a major milestone this year, becoming the only male player to reach the semi finals of all four Grand Slam tournaments in 2026.
The 29 year old, who won the French Open and finished runner up at Wimbledon, has steadily improved during the US Open after a slow start to his campaign.
Zverev will now face Karen Khachanov in the semi finals. Khachanov booked his place in the last four after his quarter final victory, setting up an exciting clash with the tournament’s top seed.
Zverev will be hoping to continue his strong run and go one step closer to another Grand Slam title.
The US Open continues at Flushing Meadows, with the semi finals set to bring together some of the biggest names in men’s tennis.
