Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from Don 3 has sparked a major financial dispute with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. According to reports, the production house is demanding ₹40 crore in compensation, claiming it suffered heavy losses during the film’s pre-production phase based on Ranveer’s commitment to the project.
Sources suggest that Ranveer stepped away from the sequel due to dissatisfaction with the script. He reportedly requested multiple changes but was unhappy with the final draft. As a result, he believes he is not liable to pay any compensation. However, Excel Entertainment maintains that pre-production began only after the actor gave his approval, and his sudden departure led to significant financial setbacks.
The situation has reportedly impacted the company’s operations, with Excel downsizing and letting go of several department heads. The Producers Guild of India (PGI) has now stepped in to mediate between both parties in hopes of resolving the matter amicably.
Meanwhile, industry buzz hints that Shah Rukh Khan may be reconsidered for Don 3, though no official confirmation has been made. Ranveer, on the other hand, is preparing for the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge on March 19, 2026.
