Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police have temporarily lifted restrictions on truck movements across the city, allowing heavy vehicles to use all roads until Wednesday evening. The decision is part of eased traffic controls following a period of weather-related travel disruption in the emirate. Normally, trucks are restricted from using certain major routes during peak hours to reduce congestion, but the temporary change aims to improve logistics flow and support freight operations as conditions stabilise.
Authorities said the move will help clear freight backlogs and facilitate deliveries while ensuring that key supply chains remain functional. Truck drivers are still expected to follow regular road safety rules, and police have reminded motorists to share the road responsibly with heavy vehicles. Road users were also advised to plan their journeys with possible truck movements in mind, particularly on arterial roads between industrial areas and ports.
Officials stressed that the arrangement is temporary and will revert to standard permitted routes and timings once normal traffic frameworks resume after the deadline. The coordination between RTA and Dubai Police underscores efforts to balance mobility needs with public safety, especially during times when traffic patterns are adjusted due to external factors such as weather or infrastructure updates.
