Dubai International Airport (DXB) is introducing a smart checkout reminder system that alerts passengers if they are running late for their flights while shopping or dining. Linked to payment transactions, the system will calculate gate distance and departure time, sending polite reminders to avoid missed flights. DXB is also rolling out over 100 AI-powered security scanners that allow travellers to keep liquids and laptops in their bags, ending long-standing restrictions. Part of its “no red lights” strategy, these innovations aim to create a seamless airport journey as DXB targets over 100 million passengers in 2026.
