Stop signs of school buses on roads are not to be ignored since it could cost you a hefty fine of Dh1,000 and the bus driver can get 10 black points, Abu Dhabi traffic authorities have warned.
Motorists who stop less than five metres from the bus will be fined Dh1,000 and will also get 10 black points on their driving license, according to the advisory posted on social media.
The bus driver can also get a fine of Dh500 and six black points if they don’t display the stop sign arm when picking up or dropping off the students.
School bus drivers and parents are also urged to follow to the specific speed limits and follow the rules when transporting their children.
