The UAE has launched its 2025 national seasonal influenza awareness campaign under the theme “Protect Yourself… Protect Your Community”. Health officials urged residents, especially high-risk groups, to take the annual flu vaccine, with a higher-dose version recommended for those over 65. The vaccine, updated yearly to match circulating strains, reduces severe complications though it may not fully prevent infection. Shots are available for everyone above six months at healthcare centres nationwide. The campaign, running September 2025–March 2026, includes community outreach, digital awareness tools, and alert systems for doctors. Preventive measures like handwashing and avoiding contact with sick individuals were also stressed.
