The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) has opened submissions for the second Abu Dhabi International Competition for Composition, inviting composers from around the world to showcase their original music.

The competition has two categories: orchestral compositions of up to 10 minutes and solo piano compositions of up to five minutes. Entries will be judged anonymously by an international panel of composers, conductors and musicians.

The first edition in 2025 received more than 165 entries from 47 countries. The competition aims to support emerging and established composers and give their work international recognition.

Submissions for the second edition close on December 31, 2026, with winners to be announced in May 2027.

The first prize winner in each category will receive AED 130,000, a professional recording, publication of the winning score and a commission with a world premiere at Abu Dhabi Festival 2028. Second and third place winners will receive AED 50,000 and AED 25,000 respectively, along with mentorship and international exposure.

The winning compositions will be presented at the Abu Dhabi Festival in March 2028, giving composers an opportunity to reach audiences from around the world.
