
A Roland Berger study reveals 52% of UAE residents are opting for electric vehicles (EVs) due to lower running costs, environmental benefits, and advanced technology. The UAE leads the GCC with nearly 24,000 EVs sold in 2024 and over 1,270 public charging stations in Dubai alone. Saudi Arabia also saw sales surge tenfold to 11,000 units. EV satisfaction is high, with the UAE (95%) surpassing Europe and the Americas. While Saudi drivers mostly own private chargers, 33% of UAE owners use shared charging. EV adoption is shifting from early adopters to mainstream, with 94% of UAE EV users ready to repurchase.
