Rajkummar Rao has addressed concerns over his striking new appearance, revealing that his weight gain and thinning hair were deliberate for his upcoming biopic Nikam. The actor shared that he gained nearly 9–10 kilograms, indulging in pizzas, sweets, aloo parathas, and biryani to authentically portray the character. Known for his intense method approach, Rao emphasised he prefers physical transformation over prosthetics whenever possible.

This isn’t his first drastic change. He previously went partially bald for Bose: Dead/Alive and lost significant weight for Trapped, while also immersing himself deeply into roles like Srikanth.

Having wrapped Nikam, Rao is now shedding the extra weight to prepare for another biopic, where he will portray former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly. He assured fans that every transformation is driven by dedication to his craft and love for storytelling.
