The UAE Government has confirmed that its advanced, multi layered air defence systems successfully intercepted the majority of threats during a recent Iranian attack. Out of 186 ballistic missiles launched toward the country, 172 were destroyed, 13 fell into the sea, and one landed within UAE territory. Authorities clarified that the loud sounds heard across various regions were the result of missile interceptions and fighter jet operations. Minor damages recorded were caused by falling debris from destroyed projectiles, not direct strikes. The Armed Forces remain on high alert with strengthened early warning systems to safeguard national security.
During the media briefing, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy reaffirmed the country’s right to self defense, describing the attack as unjustified. She confirmed that the UAE has closed its embassy in Tehran and withdrawn its ambassador, while maintaining what she described as a balanced, measured and security focused diplomatic approach.
