Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas has spoken about why she decided to explore opportunities outside Bollywood, saying she felt “cornered” in the industry at one point in her career. Speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the former Miss World 2000 winner explained that her decision was driven by the need to grow professionally and avoid staying in a situation that felt limiting.

Chopra recalled that one of her earliest film experiences was the Tamil movie Thamizhan, where she starred opposite Vijay. Seeing the massive fan following for the star gave her an early glimpse into the scale of fame in Indian cinema.

Talking about her later career choices, Chopra said she prefers to move forward instead of staying in uncomfortable situations. She clarified that pursuing international opportunities was not about rejecting Bollywood but about expanding her career.

Her global journey began with music collaborations with artists like Pitbull and will.i.am before she moved into acting internationally. Chopra later gained worldwide recognition through the hit TV series Quantico, which premiered in 2015 and marked her breakthrough in Hollywood.
