Expatriates in the United Arab Emirates can now complete the mandatory medical fitness test for residency visa renewal from their homes through a new service introduced by Emirates Health Services.

The initiative allows residents to book an appointment by calling 800887, after which a specialised medical team from Wiqayati preventive health centres visits the applicant’s residence to carry out the required screening. The examinations are conducted under established health and safety standards to ensure accurate testing while maintaining patient comfort.

Once the screening process is completed, test results are sent to applicants through SMS or email, allowing them to continue the residency visa renewal process online without the need to visit a medical fitness centre in person.

Authorities said the service is currently available only for residency visa renewal applications, and not for new visa medical tests.

The initiative is designed to simplify procedures for residents, save time, and reduce congestion at medical facilities across the country. Officials added that the service also supports the UAE’s broader strategy to expand digital government services and improve public convenience by offering more flexible options for completing mandatory administrative procedures.
