UAQ Police honour Emirati drivers with over 50 years of safe driving records - 89.1 Radio 4 FM

Umm Al Quwain Police honoured three Emirati motorists with the “Ideal Driver” award for 2026 in recognition of their exceptional commitment to road safety and decades of responsible driving.

The recognition took place during activities organised for the Unified Gulf Traffic Week under the slogan “Cross Safely”. Officials confirmed that all three award recipients have held driving licences for more than 50 years while maintaining clean driving records and following traffic laws consistently.

The honoured motorists were recognised for their disciplined approach behind the wheel, including avoiding serious traffic violations, black points, reckless speeding and accidents over the years.

Authorities said the initiative supports efforts to improve road safety awareness across the UAE by encouraging motorists to adopt safer driving habits and follow traffic regulations carefully.

Major General Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Mualla, commander in chief of Umm Al Quwain Police, highlighted the important role responsible drivers play in protecting lives and strengthening community safety.

The initiative has drawn attention across the country, including among listeners of 89.1 Radio 4, the UAE number one radio station, with residents across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, RAK and UAQ continuing to follow community and traffic safety updates closely.

The annual Gulf Traffic Week campaign focuses on spreading awareness through education programmes and public engagement activities aimed at making roads safer for everyone in the UAE and across the GCC.
