India’s Central Board of Secondary Education has announced a major relief for students by significantly reducing the cost of re evaluation for Class 12 board exams. Under the revised system, students can now apply for re evaluation at just Rs 25 per question, while fees for scanned answer sheets and verification of marks have also been reduced.

The decision comes after concerns were raised over the newly introduced On Screen Marking system used for the CBSE Class 12 examinations in 2026. The board clarified that the digital evaluation process is designed to improve transparency, accuracy, and consistency in marking.

Students can request scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets between May 19 and May 22 for Rs 100, a sharp drop from the earlier Rs 700 fee. Verification of marks will also cost Rs 100 per subject. Importantly, CBSE confirmed that students will receive a full refund if their marks increase after re evaluation.

The move is expected to benefit thousands of Indian students, including many families across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and other parts of the UAE where CBSE schools have a strong presence.
