Sharjah Ruler inaugurates redesigned Al Majarrah Park as new cultural and community hub - 89.1 Radio 4 FM

Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has inaugurated the redesigned Al Majarrah Park, transforming it into a modern cultural and recreational destination aimed at strengthening community life in Sharjah.

The park, developed under the umbrella of Sharjah Art Foundation, has been reimagined as a public space that blends art, leisure, and sports facilities while reflecting the emirate’s identity and creative vision.

Located in the Al Majarrah area, the park features a wide range of facilities including running tracks, football and basketball courts, climbing nets, skating areas, and open spaces designed for cultural and social gatherings. Officials said the redesign encourages community interaction while promoting health, fitness, and wellbeing.

During the inauguration, the Sharjah Ruler toured the park’s artistic installations, which draw inspiration from local memories and cultural heritage. The space also includes green areas and water features designed to enhance the environmental experience for visitors.

The project is part of Sharjah’s broader initiative to integrate public art into everyday spaces, joining other landmark cultural destinations such as Rain Room and Al Mureijah Square installations.

The redesigned park is expected to serve residents and families across Sharjah and nearby emirates including Dubai, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, and UAQ, offering a new space where culture and recreation come together in one accessible location.
