Skywatchers across the UAE are being treated to a rare celestial spectacle as Venus and Jupiter appear exceptionally close together in the evening sky. The event began on June 7, remains visible on June 8, and will reach its closest point on June 9, offering residents a unique opportunity to witness one of the most striking planetary pairings in recent years.

According to Emirati astronomer Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the two brightest planets can be seen with the naked eye shortly after sunset. Appearing almost side by side in the western sky, Venus and Jupiter create a dazzling visual display that requires no telescope or special equipment to enjoy.

Astronomy experts say this is the closest visible meeting of Venus and Jupiter from the Northern Hemisphere until around 2028, making it a particularly significant event for stargazers and photography enthusiasts.

Residents across the UAE can observe the planets for approximately two hours after sunset before they gradually dip below the horizon around 9:30 PM. Clear skies and minimal light pollution will offer the best viewing experience.

The rare conjunction is expected to attract widespread interest among astronomy lovers, families, and casual observers alike, providing a memorable opportunity to witness a remarkable event unfolding in the night sky.
