England held their composure in a tense finish to defeat India by five runs in their final ICC Women’s T20 World Cup warm-up match, with Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amy Jones delivering crucial half-centuries to guide the hosts to victory.

Batting first, England posted a competitive total of 171, thanks to strong contributions at the top of the order. Amy Jones led the charge with a fluent 64 off 45 balls after being promoted to open, while captain Nat Sciver-Brunt followed with a classy 57 off 45 deliveries, anchoring the innings with authority. India’s bowlers struck at key moments, but England’s early momentum proved decisive.

In response, India mounted a spirited chase, powered by Richa Ghosh’s explosive 68 off just 36 balls, keeping the contest alive until the final overs. However, England’s bowlers held their nerve under pressure, with Linsey Smith and Tilly Corteen-Coleman making key breakthroughs to derail India’s late surge.

Despite a strong finish from India, England sealed a narrow win, boosting confidence ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign.

The result adds momentum for England as they prepare to face Sri Lanka in their opening group match, while India will look to regroup after a closely fought contest.
