Former badminton legend Prakash Padukone has shared his candid review of Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar, praising the film’s performances and production while noting that it was “a bit too violent.”

Speaking to The Indian Express, Padukone said the film is “very well made” with strong performances across the cast. However, he added that the level of violence was slightly excessive from his perspective, even though it clearly resonated with a large section of audiences. “It’s a great film… but there was a little bit too much violence,” he said, while acknowledging its massive popularity.

Padukone also spoke warmly about his relationship with Ranveer Singh, highlighting their shared interests in sports, especially football and cricket. He mentioned that both families share a close bond and often travel together on vacations. According to him, conversations at home often range from football rivalries to discussions about the film industry, which he enjoys learning about from Ranveer.

Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in recent years, reportedly crossing massive global earnings and cementing Ranveer Singh’s position as one of India’s top stars. The franchise has been widely credited with reshaping commercial Hindi cinema with its large-scale action storytelling.
