Indian cricket’s teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has once again grabbed global attention after smashing the fastest half-century in List A cricket history during an India A match against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla.

The 15-year-old reached his fifty in just 11 balls, breaking previous records in the 50-over format and leaving fans and experts stunned with his explosive batting display.

Sooryavanshi eventually scored a blistering 94 runs off only 29 deliveries, helping India A post a massive total of 377-9.

Reacting to the innings, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) celebrated the youngster on social media, writing: “Fast. Faster. Vaibhav.”

The left-handed batter has rapidly emerged as one of India’s brightest young talents after dominating the latest Indian Premier League, where he scored 776 runs for Rajasthan Royals to finish as the tournament’s highest run-scorer and claim the Orange Cap.

His remarkable form has already earned him selection in India’s T20 squads for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England, along with the Asian Games.

If he makes his international debut soon, Sooryavanshi could become India’s youngest-ever player, surpassing legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, who debuted for India at the age of 16 in 1989.
