The BBC and the All England Lawn Tennis Club have announced a landmark extension of their long-running partnership, ensuring that Wimbledon will remain free-to-air for UK audiences until 2033.

Under the new agreement, coverage of Wimbledon Championships will continue across BBC television, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds, and digital platforms, maintaining one of the most iconic broadcasting traditions in British sport.

BBC Sport said the extension will also bring enhanced coverage with fresh storytelling, new presenters, and improved digital engagement to bring audiences closer to the tournament than ever before. The move follows record-breaking online engagement during last year’s Championships.

Officials from both the BBC and the All England Club said the deal reinforces their shared commitment to keeping Wimbledon accessible to the widest possible audience, preserving its cultural and sporting significance in the UK.
