Dil Chahta Hai has completed 25 years, and director Farhan Akhtar marked the milestone with a special post celebrating the film and its enduring connection with audiences.
Farhan shared the film's poster on Instagram and thanked fans for keeping the story of Akash, Sameer and Sid relevant even after all these years.
The 2001 film marked Farhan's directorial debut and starred Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna as three friends navigating friendship, relationships and growing up.
Farhan wrote, “Can't believe it's been 25 years.. Akash, Sameer and Sid don't look like they've aged a day!!!! Heart filled with gratitude to you, the audience, for keeping it alive and still relevant.”
The film also featured Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni and Dimple Kapadia and went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
