Starting October 27, 2025, Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (AD Mobility) will introduce a variable speed limit system on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Road to improve traffic flow and enhance safety. Speed limits will automatically adjust based on weather conditions, peak-hour congestion, roadworks, or major events. The initiative aims to reduce accidents and ease congestion, not to slow traffic unnecessarily. Motorists are urged to follow the displayed limits and cooperate with authorities. The system reflects Abu Dhabi’s ongoing efforts to promote smarter, safer, and more efficient transportation across one of the city’s busiest road corridors.
