Dubai introduces smart school parking system with savings of up to 80 per cent - 89.1 Radio 4 FM

Dubai has launched a new digital school parking system aimed at making daily pick up and drop off routines easier for parents, students, and school staff across the emirate.

The initiative is part of a partnership between Knowledge and Human Development Authority and Parkin Company PJSC to modernise parking subscriptions around educational institutions.

Under the new system, manual approvals and paperwork will be replaced with real time digital verification, allowing eligible users to access parking permits faster and more efficiently. Authorities said the updated process could help users save up to 80 per cent on parking costs.

Students with vehicles can subscribe to seasonal permits starting from Dh100 per month or Dh1,000 annually. The permits provide access to roadside and plot parking zones near campuses across Dubai.

Officials said the project supports Dubai’s wider smart city vision by improving convenience, reducing congestion during school hours, and enhancing the overall education experience for families across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and the UAE.

The move is also aligned with Dubai’s Education 33 Strategy, which focuses on digital transformation and improving quality of life through smarter public services.
