Dubai Launches New Airport Security Layer With National Inspector Role to Strengthen Aviation Safety - 89.1 Radio 4 FM

Dubai has introduced a new aviation security initiative under Dubai Police, creating a specialised “National Inspector” role aimed at strengthening inspection standards across one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

The move focuses on improving security oversight, ensuring strict compliance with international regulations, and building a new generation of trained Emirati aviation professionals. The role is designed to enhance the overall airport security ecosystem by introducing deeper evaluation, risk assessment, and quality control across operations.

According to officials, the National Inspector pathway allows professionals to progress from technical and supervisory positions into advanced inspection roles through structured training and field experience. The system is aligned with global aviation standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization, which emphasises continuous monitoring and specialised inspection capabilities.

Brigadier Hamed Al Hashemi said the initiative will improve operational readiness and ensure precise implementation of security procedures, while Brigadier Rashid Nasser highlighted its importance in developing Emirati talent through accredited training programmes in collaboration with the Dubai Civil Aviation Security Centre.

The announcement comes as Dubai continues to invest heavily in aviation infrastructure and safety systems, reinforcing its position as a global travel hub.

In a separate incident at Dubai airport, authorities also reported a case involving a traveller assaulting an inspector, underscoring the importance of strong enforcement and trained security personnel at all levels.

The introduction of the National Inspector role marks a significant step in enhancing airport safety standards while creating a structured career path for aviation security professionals in the UAE.
