Dubai Police received 8,263 emergency calls through the 999 hotline during heavy fog that reduced visibility across parts of the emirate earlier this week. The calls were logged between 3am and 10am on Monday and Tuesday, prompting heightened monitoring by the Command-and-Control Centre at the General Department of Operations. Authorities issued an urgent safety warning, stressing that dense fog significantly reduces horizontal visibility and increases the risk of multi-vehicle accidents.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Abdul Rahman Al Ali urged motorists to reduce speed, avoid sudden braking, maintain safe distances and use fog lights when necessary. Drivers were also advised to stay below maximum speed limits.
